TractPin Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 26, 2026
TractPin ("we") is a Google Sheets add-on, published by Tiny Lever, that looks up map coordinates and census geographies for US addresses. This policy explains exactly what Google user data the add-on accesses, how it is used, shared, protected, kept and deleted.
1. Data we access
TractPin requests three Google permissions:
- See, edit, create and delete only the specific Google Sheets spreadsheet the add-on is used in (spreadsheets.currentonly). TractPin reads the address column(s) you choose and the header row, and writes results into empty columns you choose in that same spreadsheet. It cannot open or see any of your other files.
- Display and run third-party web content in prompts and sidebars inside Google applications (script.container.ui). Used only to show the TractPin menu and sidebar.
- Connect to an external service (script.external_request). Used only to (1) send each address you choose to geocode to the US Census Bureau Geocoder (geocoding.geo.census.gov), and (2) send the Pro license key you type in to our payment provider, Gumroad (api.gumroad.com).
TractPin does not access your email address, contacts, Drive files, Gmail or any other Google data, and does not collect aggregated or anonymized data about you.
2. How we use the data
Addresses are used only to look up their coordinates and census geographies and write the results into your spreadsheet, at the moment you click Geocode. We do not use the data for any other purpose, including advertising, analytics, profiling, lending decisions or training AI/ML models.
3. How we share the data
- Addresses you choose to geocode are sent directly from Google's servers to the US Census Bureau Geocoder, a free public U.S. government service, which returns the results. Only the address text is sent, nothing else from your spreadsheet.
- Your license key is sent to Gumroad to verify a purchase.
- Nothing passes through our own servers (we don't have any). We do not sell, rent or transfer any user data to anyone else, including data brokers, advertisers or AI providers.
4. How we protect the data
- Processing happens inside Google's infrastructure under your own Google account; we never receive or store a copy of your spreadsheet data.
- All external requests use encrypted HTTPS, and the add-on is technically restricted (via its manifest's URL allowlist) to contacting only geocoding.geo.census.gov and api.gumroad.com.
- The add-on uses the narrowest spreadsheet permission Google offers (current spreadsheet only).
5. Data retention and deletion
- Spreadsheet data and addresses: not retained by us at all. Results you choose to write stay in your spreadsheet until you delete them.
- Settings stored in your Google account by Apps Script: your monthly free-usage count, your license key and the date it was last checked. These stay until you remove them.
- To delete: use Account → Remove license in the sidebar to delete the stored license key, and uninstall TractPin from Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons. You can also email us and we will help.
6. Limited Use
TractPin's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Census attribution
This product uses the Census Bureau Data API but is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau.
